SAVE FAIR HOUSING NOW

HUD and the White House are trying to push through a rule that would be a massive step back on fair housing and an attack on housing justice by repealing the Affirmatively Furthering Fair Housing (AFFH) rule.

We won't allow it!

Tell Trump and Carson to implement the policies that we know work, and tell their donors and developer buddies NO to rolling back fair housing, rent control, common sense climate rules, and worker protections.

We need to #FightForHousingJustice today.

Some common ways the Fair Housing Act is violated and Affirmatively Furthering Fair Housing (AFFH) is intended to solve is by:

 - the gentrification that leads to the demolition of properties and eviction of low-income families of color

 - neighborhoods that have underfunded and under-resourced schools

 - unfair distribution of city services/parks/maintenance

 - zoning rules that keep lower-income families out of better-funded neighborhoods and communities

If you have experienced or seen any of these, include it in your comment.

We are in the midst of a fair housing and affordable housing crisis, brought on by policies that have put the profits of developers, landlords, and billionaires over our right to housing.

Now President Trump and Secretary Ben Carson want to double down on those failed tactics that are driving a lack of housing for the poor and working-class and for people of color, persons with disabilities, and domestic violence survivors by massively rolling back fair housing rules and attacking the very policy wins that are beginning to make a dent in the crisis.

The big money special interests are scared of the power of people reining them in. And, they should be. We know that the many can defeat the money when we stand united. Make your voice heard by customizing and submitting a comment to HUD now.
