Fair Housing
Where we live is the cornerstone of the foundation of our lives. Housing discrimination remains a barrier to equal access to housing for many individuals and families. To remedy the ongoing effects of discriminatory housing policies and practices, federal fair housing and civil rights laws seek to prohibit discrimination based on one's membership in a protected class. Fair housing policies apply to virtually all forms of housing, with a few limited exceptions, and a broad array of housing-related transactions.
